Faculty Awards
- Professor Emeritus John Falconer earned the Thomas and Donna Edgar CACHE Award for Excellence in Chemical Engineering Education for 2021, a recognition for leading the development of online interactive simulations for LearnChemE. These simulations are freely available for chemical engineering educators and students around the world.
- Distinguished Professor Christopher Bowman of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Boulder has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, one of the highest professional distinctions accorded to engineers.
- Professor Kristi Anseth will be the recipient of the prestigious Herman F. Mark Polymer Chemistry Award at the American Chemical Society (ACS) Fall 2021 meeting.
- Professor Christine Hrenya is the recipient of the AIChE 2020 Shell Thomas Baron Award in Fluid-Particle Systems, an award that recognizes a researcher who has made a significant impact in the fluid particle systems field or related subjects.
- Professor Christine M. Hrenya will deliver the prestigious Jacobus van ’t Hoff lecture for the TU Delft Process Technology Institute on Sept. 17. She joins a cadre of accomplished, notable researchers—including Nobel laureates—who have been honored with the lecture appointment.
- Associate Professor Michael Shirts is the recipient of the 2020 Computational Molecular Science & Engineering Forum Impact Award.
- Assistant Professor Adam Holewinski and Associate Professor Wilson Smith have been selected as Scialog Fellows to participate in the 2020 Scialog: Negative Emissions Science initiative, an effort to identify bottlenecks in research and develop ways to foster breakthroughs in the field.
- Musgrave was recognized earlier this semester for his outstanding body of research.
- She is one of only five women in the world, and the only recipient in North America, to receive the recognition this year.
- Earlier this month, Assistant Professor Adam Holewinski earned a prestigious Faculty Early Career Development CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation for his proposal, “Understanding Bifunctionality in Organic Electro-oxidation Catalysis.”
