Professor Robert Davis wins Boulder alumni award

The Boulder Alumni Association has named Professor and Dean Emeritus Robert H. Davis a 2017 Robert L. Stearns Alumni Award winner.

Davis joined the chemical engineering faculty in 1983 and served as dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science from 2002-17.

The was initiated in 1953 upon the resignation of Robert L. Stearns as the sixth president of the university. The award recognizes members of the faculty and staff for extraordinary achievement or service in any one or combination of the following areas: teaching, service to the university, work with students, research or off-campus service.

“We appreciate all that Rob has done on behalf of the department, college and and recognize the many sacrifices he has made on our behalf over the last 24 years while he served as department chair and dean of the college,” department Chair Charles Musgrave said.

Davis will formally accept the award at a ceremony Oct. 26.
