Current Projects
1. Minority stress and the health behavior of sexual minority men
Sexual minority men face disproportionate rates of social stressors as a result of their devalued sexual identity, including pervasive stigma, prejudice, and discrimination. This project explores the influence of minority stressors on the sexual risk behavior and substance use of sexual minority men. This project is supported by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and a Beverly Sears Graduate Student Grant.
2. Acute effects of cannabis use on aerobic exercise
An increasing number of Americans are using cannabis in conjunction with exercise, however, little scientific evidence exists regarding the potential harms and benefits of this behavior. We want to understand how varying levels of cannabinoids like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) can impact factors associated with regular exercise, such as enjoyment, motivation, and pain.
This study is no longer recruiting participants.
This project is supported by a ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä REACH Graduate Research Scholar Award.
