New Research Project: Klamath Basin Improved Operations

a map of the Klamath basin

Starting in August CADSWES launches a new research project that aims to develop new operating policies and procedures for the Klamath Basin in Oregon, consistent with changing environmental objectives, decommissioned power projects, hydrologic uncertainty and stakeholder input. In collaboration with Reclamation's Technical Service Center and the Klamath Basin Area Office operators, CADSWES will identify changing operational needs, develop new models and tool for operators and stakeholders, and assess potential improvements. The project will integrate state-of-art decision tools and contribute to new approaches to flexible operating policies. Senior researcher David Neumann and M.S. student Mitchell Frischmeyer will join PI Edie Zagona in the year-long project.
