The Department of Applied Mathematics is hosting a special colloquium later this month with APPM’s Distinguished Professor Mark Ablowitz speaking. Mark Ablowitz received the 2022 Hazel Barnes Prize, the most prestigious award presented to individual faculty members by the University of Colorado. Chancellor DiStefano describes the award, stating that “since 1992, the Hazel Barnes Prize has been awarded each year to the Boulder faculty member who has most consistently demonstrated a strong, enriching relationship between his or her teaching and research, and whose work has had a significant impact on students, faculty, colleagues, and the University.”
The colloquium, held, is titled “Looking Back: Reflections on Research and Teachings” and will include a background and discussion of Dr. Ablowitz’s most distinguished work.
